History of the Snorkel Parka
Worn in the 50's as a flight parka for military Air Force units stationed in extreme cold weather conditions, it was dubbed the "snorkel parka" for the snorkel (small tunnel) that formed after the pilot would zip up the hood to protect all his face besides his eyes. This original parka's warm and protective body formed the modern iconic parka coat that today is a classic, transformed and remodeled by designer brands.
